Dear Readers: The Goddess of Capitalism is filled with ire tonight. Weighing on me is how much deceit I uncovered in a relatively short time this morning, especially from people who offer themselves up as the “Gatekeepers of Truth”.
So, the first item is that CBS decided to edit out a potent portion of the Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan interview last night. It seems RatherGate was too long ago for any of the boneheads in their news department to remember that some citizens actually pay attention, and will utilize the new media to get out specific information. I turn to HotAir for the details:
This is the part that readers claim was edited out of the broadcast, which if true would be journalistic malpractice:
Ryan added, “My mom is a Medicare senior in Florida. Our point is we need to preserve their benefits, because government made promises to them that they’ve organized their retirements around. In order to make sure we can do that, you must reform it for those of us who are younger. And we think these reforms are good reforms. That have bipartisan origins. They started from the Clinton commission in the late ’90s.”
Ryan, who has a mom in Florida and whose plan is MORE protective of the seniors on Medicare than Obama’s plan is actually scaring the left witless. All CBS had to do was offer the entire video and let viewers decide for themselves. But these idiots want to do our thinking for us. Disgusting.
The second bit of news is more local. It seems that the historic Lily Pond in Balboa park was destroyed by a bunch of mindless morons. However, you would have to look high and low for reports the detail who the organizers were. It seems that some intrepid citizens acted more like journalists of former, glorious eras — they located the FaceBook page of the “Second Annual Midnight Water Gun Fight in Balboa Park” and determined the organizers. These organizers, who include Ken St. Pierre, who was the Sales Director at San Diego Gay and Lesbian news and has organized Gay Pride events before [NOTE – SDGLN even reported on the event beforehand (http://www.sdgln.com/entertainment/2012/08/09/jim-winsor-out-about-cityfest-festivities-sunday%5D.
I don’t give a damn if this was a LGBT event. What I do give a damn about is the double standard: If this had been a Tea Party event, our entire movement would have been vilified and the organizers pilloried. I also give a damn that these supposed leaders of the San Diego community didn’t step up, take some personal responsibility and press questions, and perhaps offered to make amends through some community charity event.
The Balboa Park Lily Pond is a gem, and the Young Prince and I are emotionally attached to Lily Ponds. I have no words to express the depth of my outrage.
Charles Caesar has the complete analysis of the situation with a detailed list of organizer names: PROGRESSIVE COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS DESTROY HISTORIC POND IN BALBOA PARK.
Finally, it seems that lefty news sites can’t be bothered to fact check anything when it comes to reporting on the Romney/Ryan 2012 campaign. This chestnut comes by way of Legal Insurrection: Hey Paul Ryan haters, your congressional insider trader suspect actually is Sheldon Whitehouse
Paul Ryan falsely was accused today by left-wing bloggers, most notably Matthew Yglesias (formerly of Think Progress now of Slate), of insider trading based on confidential information provided by the Treasury Secretary to Congress on September 18, 2008.
That day, Ryan traded Citigroup stock.
The accusation fell apart when someone noticed that the congressional meeting was in the evening of September 18, after the markets closed and Ryan already had completed his trades. Yglesias issued a retraction, and even New York Magazine defended Ryan on the charge of insider trading (which at the time would have been legal for members of Congress).
I think that Team Obama has mistaken the 2012 campaign for the one in 2008, when that ran against a candidate who didn’t want to win and citizens who were not nearly as savvy in social media and internet research. I can only imagine that, even after all the boobish mistakes the Obama campaign has made so far, that their Chicago-thug style will not change. However, I have good hope that we will have a Revolution of the Truth this November. Truth is the Chief Handmaiden of the Goddess of Capitalism.
Now that I have vented, I would like to leave the Shrine in a little cheerier mood. So, I turn to my cigar-smoking hero, Captain Capitalism, who is amused that the chief Google search about Paul Ryan involved the term, “shirtless”. Frankly, I find that the brain is the most significant organ when it comes to arousal, and Paul Ryan’s brains are very appealing. It seems NoOneOfAnyImport Feels the same way I do, too.
Mitt Romney is wise, indeed, to use every weapon in his arsenal. And I do mean every weapon!

Thanks for your support in getting the story about the lily pond out. In the end, I think we have don’t the community a service by making the situation available in a google search. Recently blog.doodooecon.com has been added to news.google.com, at least for the moment. It gives us a real outlet to balance out the distortions from the left.
My sympathies on Balboa park. These “Gay Pride Enviros” should be made an example of. Why do I suspect “squirt guns” has some sick double meaning.
thanks for the link blessing, Goddess. Yeah, I think Paul Ryan is a great pick indeed. Not only is he capable of schooling his opponents, but he does so in such a careful and polite manner that it’s probably even more infuriating. Oh and also he is dashing.
Cheers!
