….and I say this as a Democrat.
Dear Readers: My beloved husband, Horemheb, actually watches MSNBC for a “full story” perspective. He reports that the leftist, Obama-supporters are rapturously happy with the results of the Delaware election — assuming Democrat Coons is a shoo-in, and that the Republican plans for a Senate-takeover have been thwarted.
These Dems are deluded (no surprise there). The voters were choosing the “Country Class”, citizen-oriented representative instead of socialist-lite, “Ruling Class” politico. And, I guarantee you, this perspective is NOT going to change between now and November 2nd.
The establishment pundits say that the Democratic-base is NOT enthusiastic about November. I say that they are wrong — in part. A good many Democrats are chomping at the bit to vote this November. These Dems WILL be voting for the COUNTRY CLASS CANDIDATE. I know, as I met several of them at the Sacramento Tea Party.
In almost 2-years of Tea Party activism, I have never over-heard fellow Democrats “outing” themselves at an event. They did so at the recent 9-12 Tea Parties. For example, at the Sacramento rally, five other registered Democrats came up to me (after over-hearing my party affiliation) and introduced themselves. The non-Dems who overheard these conversations were supportive and excited to discuss the upcoming election. The passion among my fellow Californians was infectious.
It was initially reported that the National Republican Senate Committee was not going to fund the O’Donnell’s campaign. My first thought was that this may work out to O’Donnell’s benefit — she could run as a genuine Washington outsider who puts citizen concerns ahead of establishment agendas. Americans love the underdog. This sentiment is especially prevalent among Democrats. Plus, many Tea Parties were chomping at the bit to donate directly to O’Donnell and NOT the Republican groups. I do believe the grassroots outcry was so loud, that the organization reversed its initial stance this morning.
Now, to address the “Ruling Class” derision that O’Donnell can’t win. I say that the citizens of Delaware, now focused on the poor economy and the fiasco that is Obamacare, will not look too kindly on a TAX RAISING, BEARDED MARXIST! During a time of record poverty levels, I think a lot of Delware voters will be inclined to give O’Donnell a big pass on her pro-life beliefs. Ace of Spades sums up other reasons:
1. Coons could always will self-implode (FIFY, Ace).
2. Coons isn’t ideologically suited for Delaware himself (see above).
3. Coons may not be is not a great practical candidate (FIFY, again).
4. O’Donnell could actually grow as a candidate. (NOTE — I have heard O’Donnell interviewed by Tammy Bruce and fully refute the vile charges against her, most professionally. She is a solid candidate now, and will become even better).
5. The Red Wave might even will be bigger than we thought (FIFY, again).
Michelle Malkin had a few words to say about the meltdown of GOP-establishment guru, Karl Rove. Her post is essential reading, but what struck me most is how hard Rove worked behind-the-scenes to get Castle into the Senate spot — something I had not realized before her article.
Sources at the Christine O’Donnell victory party revealed to The Freedomist that in December of last year Karl Rove met with Tea Party leaders in Dover, Delaware trying to get them to cut a “deal” in which they would leave Mike Castle alone and NOT support O’Donnell.
The Freedomist has also learned that Rove was allegedly acting as an operative, although in what capacity it is not known, even as he is playing the role of a political analyst on Fox New in a fair and balanced way.
And, here is a musical tribute in honor of O’Donnell’s win!

Came over here from a comment on Hot Air, where someone linked your blog. Excellent blog, I am bookmarking you! Thanks for a level-headed response to all the angst that is prevalent in the RNC today. Loved it!
+1
Yep. A revolt of the masses against the elites. Fortunate for them that we still have elections. Otherwise the lamp posts would be full of dead meat. Lady Gaga take note.
Coons is drinking a Mexican beer?
I’d run that picture everywhere.
Like lovingmyUSA, I followed you over here from Hot Air. You’re bookmarked and in my “Daily Reads” folder!
A three word response to the crack that Christine O’Donnell is “Unelectable” — Senator Al Franken.
Leslie, I’m with you. I was hoping she would not get any support for the NRSC, as well so she could run as an Indy. As today’s money bomb ($500,000 and a crashed website) has proven, she don’t need no (R) money.
I feel bad about Karl Rove. I generally like the guy and cannot understand why he can’t get onboard. As Don Henley just said: “Get over it”.
We’re living in exciting times. Let’s enjoy it.
Great roundup, Leslie – I just got home and am linking, pronto!
Great Post! She’s working on a MILLION now!!!
