Dear Readers: Dutch university student and Tea Party coordinator, RH, sent the following report on Netherlands’ May 29th event:
RH: The event was quite a success, with close to 100 visitors, including many press. Not all speakers were libertarian (only 2), the other 3 were conservatives so we had a lot of good discussion between those and the audience.
RH: There was a lot of police on the terrain already when we entered it. Perhaps because of safety reasons: Hero Brinkman, parliamentarian for Geert Wilders’ freedom party, gave a speech about our efforts in Afghanistan.
We had about 80 people that showed up in the beginning. We had a 3 hour schedule with 5 very capable speakers. But after the first 2 we decided to take a break for 10 minutes. A lot of people went home, so maybe next year we shouldn’t take a breakor shorten our event because 3 hours may be too long.
RH — as experienced veterans of many Tea Parties, the Southern California Tax Revolt Coalition has found it helpful to keep the speech-making to 90 minutes, and no one but our special guest speakers go over 5 minutes. Plus, we have some great musical entertainment and witty skits.
A more formal event report can be found at the DUTCH TEA PARTY WEBSITE. I have utilized Google Translate to give my American compatriots a bit of that report:
On the Square in The Hague, opposite the main entrance of the House, had a special meeting last Saturday, the first Dutch Tea Party. The Tea Party movement in America a well known and rapidly growing phenomenon across the country are tea parties held in which speakers (Republican and Democratic) in glowing terms to express opposition debt, tax increases and other financial and economic distress, including government- Obama. The couple, Cindy and Richard Schneider of North Holland, Schagen believes that there is every reason for such a movement in the Netherlands to begin. Last Saturday they held their first meeting.
I think it’s a great initiative (Saturday and belonged to one of six speakers). Nothing is so crippling for a society as an omnipresent government that the people all the concerns, roles and responsibilities will incorporate hands. But we have such a strong, dominant government have, of course, dates not today or yesterday. It is connected with a long development, with the ideals of the French Revolution in motion is put. In the old world with which the checkout Revolution, were everyone’s identity and opportunities to establish his birth. Who was born as a dime, as the saying goes, would never die a penny. The modern world, however, provides citizens every opportunity – not only to be a dime, but even a gold dollar.
Interestingly, I also found a report (via Tammy Bruce) of a TEA PARTY IN JAPAN! The report on the JAPANESE TEA PARTY is HERE. There is a great video report, and it is worth checking out.
This is the first nationwide Tea Party movement to protest against the new government of Japan’s Democrats in response to the shift from an American-centered policy to a more China-focused policy, more specifically the relocation of the American Marine Corps air base from Okinawa.
Happiness Realization Party is willing to support this grass roots campaign and conservative movement by joining the demonstration that started at Hibiya Park in Tokyo to the National Diet on May 11 @ 1:00 pm in Japan. In spite of rain, more than 3000 people participated in this demonstration.
Some of my dear readers have inquired about the British Tea Party movement, launched at the home of the hero of many Americans, Daniel Hannan. So far, I have located the Facebook page of the Brighton Tea Party. Roy and the coordinator of the Italian Tea Party (David Mazzerelli) are members (please check out my story on the Dutch and Italian efforts here — The Tea Party is going international, baby.
One final note: PLEASE GO TO THE SAN DIEGO “STAND WITH ARIZONA” EVENT, if you live in the area.
On June 5th, patriots of San Diego and Southern California will hold a simultaneous sidewalk rally in conjunction with the “Phoenix Rising – Support Arizona” event that is being held that same day. We need to show Arizona and the rest of the nation that REAL San Diegans do not appreciate the City Council condemning SB 1070 and the law abiding citizens of the Grand Canyon State. We stand WITH our fellow Arizonans in enforcing the law and protecting the safety and best interests of the citizens and taxpayers.

I am hoping Beers with Demo or Caesar Charles will be able to cover the event. I am going to be at the Ascension Parish Fiesta this weekend, running the Ring Toss booth for the Cub Scouts. We need you to come. It turns out the California Assembly just passed a racial preferences bill. We have our work cut out for us.
UPDATE: It seems our Italian friends share something in common with American Tea Party compatriots: This Google Translate report shows their elite media is as incompetent in reporting actual Tea Party news as is ours.
..the national press certainly did not waste the chance to follow in an almost maniacal. Articles appeared in the newspaper (June 4) and “Italy Today” (June 3) are examples of amazing imagination in gathering details, alleged certainties and prospects for even a supposed endorsement of Gianfranco Fini our movement Tea Party Italy. View that even as the title of: Il Giornale” ride the tax revolt resulting in “some grumbling teapartisti. Other than ’68, the fantasy is in power in the Italian media today!
The truth is that the battle of the movement Tea Party Italy against excessive tax burden in Italy is not “ride” by any political leader (nor maggiornaza nor opposition) but free from many individuals and common sense can see that, in too many taxes and invasiveness of the state in our lives, the most serious problem faced in this country.
This is awsome to see!
Thank you so much for writing this up.
Thank you for your reports on the Italian Tea Party movement. Should you need some help with translating something from Italian, I’m more than happy to help you (as a professional translator, the appalling quality of automated translation is really too much to bear ^___^).
Stay strong, faithful and vigilant!
Lucca: LOL! Thanks for your offer of assistance! If I would be more than happy to replace my GOGGLE TRANSLATE versions, with one that you fine tune. As I only speak English, American and Australian, I am grateful to have the help. 🙂
Just stumbled across your site. And liking it so far. Italian, Dutch, and even Japanese Tea parties are impressive.
I am surprised the Italians are freaking, they have an almost revolving door when it comes to governments since WWII. Holland is not much better as their shaky coalitions splinter too easily while chasing out Ayaan Hirsi Ali and Geert Wilders.
Keep it up oh goddess mother. Added link to here.
Welcome, Anna Puma! I am always delighted to have a PUMA stop by for many reasons. Thank you for the kind link and support — it is comments like yours that keep me opining.
