WELCOME Instapundit readers (via Mark Meckler) and Legal Insurrection fans (thanks, Professor, for “Post of the Day” honors!).
Dear Readers: Professor Jacobson at Legal Insurrection has been leading the charge for Operation Counterweight (ensuring Tea Party winners in House and Senate races this November). Today, I wanted to feature a few candidates who seem to be focused on serving citizens instead of the elite power structure.
You will now find a special section on my blogroll: AN OPERATION COUNTERWEIGHT LIST. As I uncover these citizen candidates, I will update this list to the websites for your donation and support convenience. I am starting my list with my latest “girl crush“: Anna Marie Buerkle. The reason for my enthusiastic support can be seen in this video:
The video is a must-watch, for the sheer joy of seeing Buerkle smack down the odious, arrogant, condescending, racist, incompetent boob that is Eric Holder. The media is attempting to distract us with false employment numbers (talk about Journalistic Sun Stroke) and the ginned-up Komen crisis. Most citizen activists are very much following the aftermath o Fast and Furious.
The Democrats have targeted Buerkle’s district in New York for special attention. She could use, and deserves, our support.
Tammy Bruce offers another entry to the Operation Counterweight list: Meet AZ Congressional Candidate Gabriela Saucedo Mercer-Ready to Serve America!.
Gabby Saucedo Mercer is running against Progressive Democrat Raul Grijalva (CD-7). As you may recall, Grijalva was met with quite a challenge in 2010 when rocket scientist Ruth McClung ran against him. In 2012, with your help, Grijalva will have the opportunity to join the long line of The Unemployed – a place he has helped send many from his troubled district and throughout this state when he advocated for a boycott of Arizona.
I would now like to speak about a new action I am proposing: OPERATION COUNTERACT. This is directed at Blue Dog Democrats (such as myself), as well as PUMAs, independents and other Americans who may not be able to, or inclined to, participate in the GOP primary. Here is the essence of
OPERATION COUNTERACT:
IF YOU ARE ABLE TO WRITE-IN A NAME FOR THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY’S PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEE, WRITE IN AN ALTERNATIVE TO OBAMA!
This comes in response to a wonderful analysis by Hillary is 44: Obama lost 20% of the primary vote; the #1 write in name was Ron Paul.
Think about it: 20% of the Democrats are so disgusted with the current President that they were willing to take the time, go to the polls, and write in another name. Think about the fun that could be had. You could write in yourself — after all, most common-sense Americans love their country and wouldn’t be half as destructive. Or you could take a page from the Democratic Party’s awful recall election tactics in Wisconsin: WRITE IN MICKEY MOUSE OR ADOLPH HITLER.
Truly, there’s lots of primary fun to be had for us Democrats.
I have endeavored to locate the FL Democrat Primary results, to no avail. If I find the write-in numbers, if any, I will report back. However I must share this NY Post editorial: Democrats’ Rotten Primary Choices
It’s a crucial election year. As another global financial crisis looms and rogue states pursue nuclear weapons, the American people are desperately looking for a strong leader to show them the way to a brighter tomorrow.
So it’s unconscionable that the Democratic primaries have yet to produce a single serious candidate for president.
INDEED!
Mark Meckler notes that Obama in trouble with undecided independents. This finding corresponds directly with my open experiences with independent Democrats, as well as the posts about Obama from traditionally blue media sources (as noted above).
Many of my GOP friends are in a deep well of discontent with their choices. Given the likely results of today’s NV caucus, I will refer all of them to Professor Jacobson’s “Tweet of the Day” for comfort.

UPDATE:
Not only is the Florida Republican Party filled with cronyism, corruption, and incompetence, it seems that the Florida Democratic Party follows mystic primary rules. From what I am able to gather, no Florida Democratic Primary was held, as initially slated for Jan. 31st; it has been postponed to May and is a series of caucuses.
And, as any PUMA can tell you, Team Obama corrupts the caucus system. Also, BizzyBlog has an analysis of Florida voting fraud that is quite worrisome.
Also: RICHARD MOURDOCK FOR SENATE (Indiana). He is vying for 36-year incumbent Dick Lugar’s spot in the Senate. The following gem is from the campaign website.
Dick Lugar has been cited as “Barack Obama’s Favorite Republican” and has seemed star-struck with Obama since they first served together in the Senate. Lugar appeared in a campaign television advertisement for Obama during the 2008 presidential election, then went on to serve as a co-chair for Obama’s inaugural committee, and is now co-sponsoring several pieces of liberal legislation supported by President Obama.
A big thanks to Mark Meckler for featuring OPERATION COUNTERWEIGHT/OPERATION COUNTERACT in his blog today! I hope everyone can visit the Shrine again, as I will be adding to the list of House/Senate citizen candidates as I find them! 🙂
UPDATE: A new addition to “An Operation Counterweight List” in the blogroll to the right — Sheriff Mack for TX-21, trying to defeat SOPA-supporter, Republican Incumbent Lamar Smith. In fact, here is what good ole’ boy Lamar thinks about us Tea Party activists:
“It’s a vocal minority. Because they’re strident doesn’t mean they’re either legitimate or large in number.”
–Lamar Smith, Representative Texas 21st District
Leslie, thanks for the link.
Agreed. Lack of enthusiasm for the GOP contenders should not spill over to that of the House and Senate seats.
Thanks for the link! I’m sorry to say that I’m coming to the conclusion that I’d rather have 4 more years of Obama than 8 years of Romney.
Mind you, I’ll vote for electable conservatives down-ballot, but I’m leaning Libertarian for President.

You’ve been honored as Prof. J’s “Blog of the Day”.
(And, I note, it’s a well deserved honor.)
Excellent finds, Goddess! Keep those support worthy candidates coming!
It is nice to find a dem tea partier, we need more of you. Since there will always be a subset of the repub party that values social conservatism more than fiscal conservatism, the only way we will ever be able to get a true fiscal conservative majority will be to elect some fiscally conservative, but socially moderate/liberal dems. That would allow a true bipartisan fiscal conservative concensus. Having dem tea partiers also ensures that the tea party movement will never be hijacked to become just a subgroup of the repub party. Since Ron Paul is liberal on both social policy (except for abortion), civil liberties, and also foreign policy, he would be a very good writein candidate for the dem prez primary to protest Obama.
I also agree that for the tea party the real action should be in taking the senate, preferably with lots of tea party orientated repubs (and a few tea party dems that would be willing to vote to break a filibuster for a fiscal conservative issue, like repealing Obamacare). Romney will be definitely be better than Obama, and could even be good if he has a tea party orientated congress to drive fiscal policy. At least he can competantly run the exec branch, and if regulatory releif and spending cuts are presented to him, I beleive he will sign them.
Great round up and thanks for the link!
