Can a take-off on Steve Martin’s “King Tut” be far off?
King Putz (King Putz)
Now when he was a young man
He never thought he’d see (King Putz)
People hold the line
Tea Partying the boy king (King Putz)
How’d Michelle get so chunky (Flunky Putz)
Do you feel so punky?
(Born in Honolulu)
(If you say no, F-U, King Putz)
I will leave it to creative others to satirize the lyrics more than I have attempted above.
Now, A Reason to Tremble
The news from Egypt is no laughing matter. A noted Egyptian dissident is basically saying the Camp David Peace accords are essentially null and void. So basically, we are back in the ’70’s again without the disco, polyester, or quality skits on Saturday Night Live. My friends in Egypt are truly worried that unless the military manages to fill the power-vacuum effectively until secular parties are organized, the truly toxic and fundamentalist group Muslim Brotherhood will become entrenched: a concern detailed in an exceptional video featuring Professor Niall Ferguson that is worth watching. Also, it seems a Constitutional Panel in Egypt is including neither women or Copts, do the “Democratic Revolution” that our elite media was so excited about seems poised to evolve into something quite evil. As an extra bonus — more of our allies in that region are becoming unstable in the wake of protests that seem triggered by anti-American forces.
GOOD NEWS ON THE ANTIQUITIES: Two of the missing 18 items of the Egyptian Museum were recovered! Plus a piece from a New Kingdom coffin [which was not on the Missing Items list, but its showcase had been reported as being smashed and the coffin as being damaged]. As of this posting, most tourist spots were open — but the Cairo Museum remains shut. Dr. Zahi Hawass said: Also, the thieves were desperately looking for a mummy in order to find what thought to be a magical substance used by the ancient Egyptians in mummification. Therefore, they smashed a showcase of an empty coffin looking for a mummy and gold objects. These incidents show the ignorance of the vandals.. CALIFORNIA PHARAOHS: It seems that my Republican friends have to get informed and involved NOW, if their party is to recover enough to compete effectively in 2012. A friend of the Shrine urges everyone to review this statement from the state GOP-Chair Ron Nehring: UPDATE ON PROPOSITION 14 AND NOMINATION OF CANDIDATES. This friend notes that the local GOP Chair, Tony Kvraic (featured in a recent post) is not really following the rules: This is compelling in light of what County Chairman Tony Krvaric did to our Republican “nominees” this past December. Ron’s remarks in this article comport with the State Election Code (State law). Tony Krvaric’s new by-laws do not. He denied these elected nominees their lawful seat on the Committee. And worse, they could not participate in voting with regards to the new Board of officers and the new by-laws – the very by-laws that denied them their lawful seats. Tony Krvaric cannot overturn the results of a public primary election.
I guess Tony wants to be Pharaoh-maker — which is interesting in light of the fact Democrats are in complete control of this state. I hope my Republican friends can shake things up before I need to pull out the mummification tools.
From the NEWS PHARAOHS of MY HEART:
* W.C. Varones has a detailed post with graphics that is essential reading today. It offers a dissection of a doom predictions of Porter Stansberry and his prescriptions for protecting yourself financially. Please check it out (click HERE).
* Beers with Demo smacks-down a pundit that seems to think the Tea Parties should get involved with foreign policy: What Hartman isn’t saying but we believe he is implying is lacking a foreign policy prohibits the tea party from being a third party, which, at this time would be the absolute wrong course of action.I would also like to point out that people sensible in domestic policy would probably make some pretty savvy decisions regarding foreign policy.
*B-Daddy of the Liberator Today pays be a heart-touching compliment, and outlines why he is excited about Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker — as am I. I love people challenging the Pharaonic power of union elites.
* Shane Atwell has an interesting take on the Gaslamp Taxi “accident”: POSSIBLE SAN DIEGO TAXI JIHAD. Check it out, and decide for yourself.
