In DEFENSE of WITCHES!

Dear Readers: Many of you recall that Halloween is my favorite holiday. So, it is with some interest that I learned that Delaware Senate hopeful Christine O’Donnell, in 1999, mentioned she dabbled in witchcraft — like a lot of high school and college age kids. Even in these times, it seems a lot more chic to be a member of a coven instead of a member of a church.

The hypocritical left is chiming in with their usual array of mocks, taunts, and condescension. I think they are under the delusion that Tea Party activists and citizens following the Delaware race are not going to understand about the inherent stupidity of youth. Christine’s biggest indiscretion, in my view, is agreeing to appear on Bill Maher’s show in the first place! Christine, like many converts, is now a devout Christian…so I suspect that the only harsh judgments rendered will come from the elite politocrats who can’t stand to see a regular gal best their elitist comrade. Of course, additional insults will be uttered by rabid leftists, who are normally substantially more supportive of coven members.

My husband and I are both more upset that O’Donnell has canceled her 2 Sunday talk show appearances, including one on Fox News. Chris Wallace would be tough to face, especially after weekend at the Values Voter Summit. However, he is professional and would be fair. Once she finished discussing the matter with him, then the rest of the media would behave just as you would expect anyway. But not facing this matter directly is just weak — especially since it is such a distraction in the larger scheme of things.

I notice on Christine for Senate 2010 that she is close to earning 2 million in donations. At this point, the only thing I can stress to my Tea Party activist friends is that we need to be diligently scouring the records on Chris Coons, inasmuch as he needs to start going on defense. Let me start:

You know, I read tarot cards and palms at college parties in my much younger days. I guess I could be accused of “dabbling in witchcraft” myself. Are our opponents so bereft of ideas, they actually think this bit of ancient history is going to diminish our enthusiasm for a woman who is bringing the right values — the Constitutional Values — to Washington DC?

If Christine is smart, she will rebook herself onto those Sunday talk shows — starting with Chris Wallace. And she will use the witch reference with good humor. After all, Americans do have a soft spot in our hearts for some witches. There could be some amazing commercial and graphic opportunities; I suggest the O’Donnell people contact HILLBUZZ today, as they have the best ideas when it comes to this kind of imagery.
