Dear Readers: While I had vowed not to comment on this subject, a HillBuzz analysis this morning left me reflecting on some historical analogies. So, I felt it was time to share some of the interesting tidbits I have gleaned from Chicago’s finest pundits — and let my cherished readers decide what to make of it all.
Obama’s supporters like to claim he is the Abraham Lincoln, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and John F. Kennedy wrapped up into one super-cool package. Obama’s detractors indicate he represents Jimmy Carter’s second term, with a smidgen of Richard Nixon on the side. I have come to the conclusion these analogies are not as apt as comparing Obama to James Buchanan (the overly educated, incompetent boob that preceded Abraham Lincoln).
* James Buchanan is regarded as America’s worst President (that is, until Obama’s one-term comes to its conclusion).
* There are indications both of these Presidents made “alternative lifestyle choices”.
Here is some of that wonderful Hillbuzz analysis:
Obama’s not “our first female president” as Parker claims…he’s our first fop of a president since James Buchanan. Who, incidentally, was criticized for being too fixated on parties, entertaining, wearing dandy suits, and spending an odd amount of time with Vice President William Rufus King (whom the press nicknamed at the time, “Aunt Fancy”). King was the Kal Penn of the Buchanan White House.
“President” Obama is the very worst of all the caricatures of the gay community, which is a shame because he could be a strong role model for gay black men in particular, especially others like him who are married to women and maintaining the tragic “Down Low” lifestyle.
Since Parker’s one of those Leftists who thinks she’s inordinately clever, the way Dowd thinks of herself as well, as gay men here in Boystown we can clearly see what she’s doing by calling Obama a “female president”. She’s hinting that she knows the truth about him, but doesn’t want to out him directly, so instead she goes the roundabout route in calling him a woman…which is meant to be a pejorative against men in most cases.
Dowd did something like this earlier in the year by writing a strange piece all about Obama’s odd fascination with his “basketball buddy” Reggie Love, and how Obama makes time almost every day to “horse around” with him instead of spending time with his daughters, or doing important things like “presidenting”. Dowd winked and nodded and thoroughly amused herself in that piece, the way “journalists” before the Civil War danced around the topic of “Aunt Fancy”, Buchanan’s own “basketball buddy”.
The readings about James Buchanan are fascinating:
In life, Buchanan was not very far in the closet. For many years in Washington, he lived with William Rufus King, Senator from Alabama. The two men were inseparable; wags referred to them as “the Siamese twins.” Andrew Jackson dubbed King “Miss Nancy,” and Aaron Brown, a prominent Democrat, writing to Mrs. James K. Polk, referred to him as Buchanan’s “better half,” “his wife,” and “Aunt Fancy . . . rigged out in her best clothes.” When in 1844 King was appointed minister to France, he wrote Buchanan, “I am selfish enough to hope you will not be able to procure an associate who will cause you to feel no regret at our separation.”
No less fascinating are the collection of HillBuzz stories I have been amassing, to show some of my blogging friends that the Vera Baker affair story may be both a lie and a distraction. I offer the compendium I have collected to my readers for their further consideration:
- Leave Vera Baker Alone. She Did Not Have An Affair With Obama.
- BIZARROWORLD: Michael Sneed in Chicago is pushing the Vera Baker affair again today…someone at the White House really must want you to believe Obama is heterosexual
- Question: Is Shahzad Faisal Barack Obama’s type?
- Someone in the national media is FINALLY interested in Man’s Country in Andersonville
And finally, this screen shot from a comment that has since disappeared from a Washington Post story:
For me, the most worrisome of the 2 similarities is the vast level of incompetence, toxic to this country, displayed by both these Presidents. Today, I offer the HillBuzz review so that my readers can be fully informed — and be aware that Team Obama’s Reign of Deception includes much more than job bribes, unemployment numbers, immigration matters, and domestic/foreign policy matters.
I suspect Obama, on on a chilly January morning in 2013, will be uttering something similar to Buchanan’s quip to Lincoln: “If you are as happy in entering the White House as I shall feel on returning to Wheatland, you are a happy man indeed.”
Personally, my joy upon using the term former President for Obama will be measureless.
UPDATE: Here is a psychological analysis of Obama, with background history, that I thought was insightful and wanted to share: A Shrink Asks: What’s Wrong with Obama?, including:
Apparently, young Barry was left in the care of Communist Frank Marshall Davis, who admitted to molesting a 13-year-old girl. As a teenager, Obama wrote a disturbing poem, “Pop,” that evoked images of sexual abuse — for instance, describing dual amber stains on both his and “Pop’s” shorts.
