Dear Readers: Please check out and comment on my new post at the San Diego News Network: Young European Attitudes explains much of the debt crisis!
This graph explains the energy being expended by American mothers everywhere, including Nefertiti B., in Tea Party agitation; for the title of this piece, I amended the successful British ad that helped the Tories win to reflect American leadership.
In a nutshell, my group of co-founders of the San Diego “Tea Party” group (Southern California Tax Revolt Coalition) had with a group of “Young European Leaders”. The post details the interaction. It was most illuminating in light of recent events.
A few highlights:
* A privileged Portuguese bureaucrat insists paying “high taxes” is “just fine” — despite the complaints of Portugal’s business class and its foundering economy.
* A wild Irishman academic type stated that “university tuition was free” in his country — and got schooled that the country’s producers were actually paying for it.
I have more material that is on the “cutting room” floor. A Danish economist who argued that tax cuts DID NOT stimulate economic growth. The Irishman insisted the US Constitution was a “living-breathing” document. I plan do go in-depth on these items in tomorrow’s post.
The good news is that the Eastern European group seemed more receptive to free market ideas! As an American of Romanian heritage, I am pleased.
This interaction does not offer me any comfort that the bail-out money American taxpayers are going to lay out for Greece is a wise expenditure.
