Dear Readers: I am on a quest this week to find a true-Blue-Dog Democrat to file for candidacy in the upcoming California Gubernatorial Primary. The deadline for this filing is March 1, 2010 at noon — so time is of the essence!
The elite media assumes that Tea Party patriots are tethered to the GOP; I am here to say, as a registered Democrat, that I have a state full of Tea Party citizen activists who are anxious to locate a real Blue Dog to back in the state’s general election this November. I am going to use this post to try and tempt a savvy, fiscally-conservative Democrat who has a modicum of political experience to throw his/her hat in the ring. You will be seriously considered for support by many thousands of the state’s citizens.
The first, and most critical point, in my plea is that the California Democratic Party has no candidate. Jerry Brown, our state’s Attorney General and Former Governor, is apparently suffering from some form of dementia. The John and Ken Radio show on AM640 has the details, which can be found via podcast by clicking HERE or HERE (Jerry Brown 3PM (2/19) Democrats Nervous About Jerry Brown Nomination). The Money Quotes from John Kobel:
“The buzz is in the Bay Area is that he is senile”. Kobel went on to refer to an article in the San Francisco Bay Guardian that referred to Brown as slightly senile: Rambling Jerry Brown speech raises fear among Dems. The salient points:
If Jerry Brown’s keynote speech last night to a gala environmentalist dinner is any indication, the Democratic Party faces an uphill battle to win this year’s governor’s race. The rambling, alternately vague and academic, and often pointless address did little to inspire or excite a large, sympathetic crowd that was loaded with top Democrats. In fact, some party luminaries were openly aghast at the poor performance, with one making this succinct (if off-the-record) assessment: “We’re fucked.”
John and Ken are trying to obtain a tape, which I will share when they put up the podcast.
Translation: THE FIELD IS WIDE OPEN FOR A SAVVY, ENERGETIC, DEMOCRAT WHO IS WILLING TO CHALLENGE THEIR PARTY MACHINE!
The second point is that the primary selection choices on the Republican side — at least the “big name” ones — are no less execrable. The most likely successful candidate, Meg Whitman, is so unappealing to Tea Party citizen activists that there is going to be a protest at her Costa Mesa office today:
Event: Meg Whitman “NOT WELCOME PARTY”
Start Time: Monday, February 22 at 5:30pm
Where: New OC campaign HQ – Costa Mesa; 150 Paularino Ave, Suite C-115 City/Town:
Costa Mesa, CA
Why are the Tea Party citizens rebelling against the GOP favorite. Quite simply: SHE LACKS BACKBONE. She seems to want to pander to both sides of any issue.
* The union elites are draining our state’s resources, and she is so afraid of the unions that she will not support our CITIZEN’S POWER CAMPAIGN. Read the details: MEG WHITMAN WORKING AGAINST CONSERVATIVES AND CITIZEN POWER CAMPAIGN.
* During a speech that was attended by several of my Republican compatriots, Whitman seemed to place the blame on the Central Valley water crisis on the farmers — instead of the eco-tyrants who have erroneously utilized the Endangered Species Act to protect a nonnative, invasive species of fish.
* Then, there is this picture –

Here is the take-home message: Meg Whitman will not be the “Tea Party” candidate at any time. The three non-Republicans I correspond with the most frequently WILL VOTE THIRD PARTY before they vote for Whitman. Currently, I-Caucus is vetting lesser-known candidates in who have filed for being a Gubernatorial candidate to determine if any warrant support (CA Governor’s Forum; February 26, 2010 from 3:30pm to 6:30pm; Veteran’s Memorial Museum Balboa Park).
Presently, my assignment is to assume Whitman will win the Republican Primary and see if there is any registered Democrat with some amount of political experience who is fiscally conservative and would support the core Tea Party issues in this state:
* CITIZEN POWER CAMPAIGN: Californians’ fight to free ourselves from the dominance of SEIU leadership and that of other power-mongering union-based elites is the core of the CITIZEN POWER CAMPAIGN. Through a petition drive, we are hoping to gather enough signatures in this state to place the first Tea Party proposition on the ballot.
* Part Time California Legislature – They can’t make more economy-killing/liberty crushing regulations if they aren’t in session. Californians, please sign the Part Time CA Legislature Petition!!!!
* REPEAL AB-32: The Repeal AB32 Petition Campaign (California’s version of Cap-and-Trade); our upcoming event will feature groups who are focused on this effort, as well as businesspeople trying to reign in CARB.

If you a a Republican, but know a California Democrat who might fit the bill — PLEASE FORWARD THIS POST!
PUMA BONUS: I recently regaled some of my Republican friends with the background behind the Hillary-supporting PUMAs (Party Unity My A$$), who were targets of O-bot attacks during the 2008 election cycle. Becoming the Governor of California would be ideal revenge for a politically active PUMA. Imagine the fun you could have toying with Obama as Governor of California! THINK ABOUT IT! 🙂
(And, should a PUMA win, it could be sweet revenge galore in the upcoming 2012 election, as HillBuzz reports that Hillary Clinton is poised to make some changes and position herself for a run due to this report in Big Government: The case for Hillary’s Run for Prez in 2012.
The Clintons are no dummies. They knew Obama would fail. So, in anticipation, Hillary simultaneously (a) burnished her foreign policy credentials as Secretary of State, and (b) distanced herself from the domestic problems of the Democrats and her approval ratings have risen accordingly – even if she had no major successes. Brilliant by comparison to Obama.
She can also correctly say: “I Told You So – he wasn’t ready and I certainly am.”
I cannot possibly be the only fiscally-conservative Democrat in the State of California. The only thing stopping me from trying this is that I haven’t been active in the PTA or a mayor of a small town! Attempting to return the Democrats to a Jack-Kennedy-style party would be one of the most patriotic things a Californian could possibly do.
