Dear Readers: While I work on behalf of the Southern California Tax Revolt Coalition, I like to give a special shout-out to Tea Party events throughout the country. As many of you know, the ACORN-bus tour tormenting private citizens made me furious. Readers should recall that it was the Connecticut Working Families party that led the mob. To that end, I want everyone in these neighborhoods to join the Connecticut Tea Party efforts:
# The Norwich tea party will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Howard T. Brown Memorial Park on Chelsea Harbor Road.
# Westerly/Pawcatuck tea party will be at noon Wednesday in Westerly at the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management’s parking lot at 99 Main St.
# Hartford’s tea party is at noon Wednesday on the north steps of the Capitol Building, 210 Capitol Ave.
# New Haven’s tea party is 11 a.m. Wednesday on Long Wharf Drive on the water, with parking available at Ikea.
One of the organizers, Pam Fowler, indicates that ACORN will be one of their many Tax Revolt targets! Specifically, Pam states that the event initiates a burgeoning grassroots movement to let politicians know that the Connecticut demonstrators stand for the Constitution, fiscal restraint, and individual responsibility. The Connecticut Tea Party efforts will put state and local politicians on notice that citizens there don’t want the biggest expansion of government ever proposed (especially when stimulus dollars are directed to ACORN), a crushing tax burden that is tantamount to generational theft, and international law to supercede the US Constitution!
