Dear Readers: Just to give you a bit of notice, my profit-center business activities have increased substantially. Therefore, my regular blogging will be down to once a week or so — until my merry band of agitators at the Southern California Tax Revolt Coalition decides to become more unruly!
In fact, Sarah Bond of SCTRC has made this request to citizens enraged over their treatment at the airports by TSA agents:
We, the residents of San Diego County, need to DEMAND that the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority REMOVE TSA from our airport and hire a company that will respect common decency and civil liberties: http://www.san.org/contact_us/contact_form.aspx
The Liberator Today has a civil-disobedience protest idea worthy of Mahatma Ghandi:
I have been conflicted as to how to protest the abuse of average Americans at the hands of the TSA at our nation’s airports, but at the same time, I am a firm believer in the rule of law. Shane rightfully points out that the search procedures may very well be unconstitutional, but absent a court order, that doesn’t help your average citizen. I don’t want to ask people to suffer $10 grand fines. ….
My fellow Americans, what is to be done? Stay ungovernable my friends, but within the bounds of law and respect for our fellow Americans. Here is my suggestion. Sing. That’s right, we need to sing loudly and long while in line. It will disrupt the ambiance of submission, but is itself not unlawful. Maybe we could start with the pledge of allegiance, to remind our fellow citizens, employees of the TSA, of their duties under the constitution. As a federal employee I know I took this oath.
We could then go with patriotic and traditional songs while while waiting in line. Imagine, the power of showing our government that we are not submitting willingly. There is no law against this action of singing and reciting, but it would show our solidarity against this intrusion into our privates and private lives.
As we are now singing in protest, how about a little dancing? One of my personal Tea Party heroes is Kevin Dujan of HillBuzz, who has been yanking on the chains of the elite media in an attempt to get them to pay attention to real vote fraud issues — instead of the trumped-up ones related to Bristol Palin’s appearance on Dancing with the Stars! The audience gets to vote tonight, and for those of you who like to upset our elite betters, please vote for Bristol as early and as often as you can!
One small note: Like many Tea Party peeps, I have been following the exploits of NJ Governor Chris Christie with some interest. He appears to be challenging the state’s arrogant union leadership. However, Shane details some stances that are none too pleasing for many conservative types. Please check it out. Also, become acquainted with Mitch Daniels, the Indiana Governor who decertified the state’s public employee unions.

We have been talking about this also. Our suggestion has been to duplicate Woody Gutheries’ 30′s protest songs. Pass them out and wile away the time singing in unison.

Small speakers for our i-pods and zydeco for dancing. Better to dance than fret.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Leslie,
Congrats on the business up tick and thanks for the link. I agree with Denise on the dancing as well, anything legal and uplifting to show that we aren’t accepting this.
I like both Mitch Daniels and Chris Christie. Christie is a New Jersey Republican, so he will only be so conservative/libertarian, but he is making the right enemies and should be welcomed to our coalition. Every dollar of government spending he reduces should be seen as a victory.
