How did this RACISM TAG get pinned to the Tea Party movement?

Dear Readers: A question from a cherished reader prompted this post today. Samhenry asks: Mut – tell me – can you give me the who, what, where, when of how this racism tag got pinned to the Tea Party movement?. As the Shrine’s prophetess, I feel compelled to answer.

In a nutshell: Tea Party groups were tagged with the most vile charge our leftist, big-government-embracing, morally-superiority-preaching opponents could level to silence us. Such tactics worked in the past.

They no longer do.

Independent conservatives have spent the past year connecting with eachother, attending rallies, and becoming engaged in the political process via internet and social networking sites. Where we use to devote time to work and family matters, newly minted activists now have the energy, commitment, and resources to push back on false charges, such as the classic “you are bigots” outcry.

Obama wanted more community organizers. He now has them. And when the ballots are counted in November, we will have proof that the lies of our opponents no longer deflate us BUT give us incentive to continue our fight for sensible fiscal policy, reasonable tax rates, and the smallest government bureaucracy possible.

A good example comes the groups with which I work closely on these matters: the Southern California Tax Revolt Coalition and the SLOBs (San-Diego Local Order of Bloggers) — both found on the blogroll to your right. Once the “well dressed fake mob” charge made last year was refuted, my two groups of compatriots noted the “racism” charge being leveled willy-nilly by the usual suspects. That lead me to do my pictorial essay on Tea Party signs: SIGNS of the TIMES: San Diego Healthcare Rally for Operation Urgent Care, competing disproving the extreme leftists assertions we promoted “racist signs”. I will note that this was the most offensive sign at the rally:

Others did similar work. The biggest moment came when the Black Caucus decided to create media drama by marching through a Tea Party rally, then lie about hearing “nigger” shouted at them. Tea Party activists have learned, during the past 18 months of agitation, the importance of digital cameras and videos. We have learned how to use them, well enough that our efforts in that area have been targeted (CAT-astrophe! Loss of a critical Tea Party Tool!)

Therefore, because of our people having the proper media tools in their own hands, Big Government Andrew Brietbart was able to show that the Black caucus charge was a lie.

You will find the the elite media that predominates the New York/Washington DC corridor and the Left Coast will be even more strident in their assertions as November closes in. Note the media attention on the “Los Suns” stunt with the Arizona basketball team. Instead of being praised by the average American, most basketball fans are either ignoring it or mocking the uniform change. The old media no longer sets the template.

It is interesting that the socialist Saul Alinksy’s book, “Rules for Radicals”, has seen a resurgence since Obama’s election. I sense that the tome has been read, however, by far more conservatives than leftist organizers at this point. While Team Obama can call us “tea-baggers” and bigots in their efforts to demean us into disappearance, they are discovering Alinksy’s guide is no longer useful. As General Patton said as he stepped onto a North African battle-field: “Rommel, you magnificent bastard, I read your book!”.

Another example of how the “bigotry” charge will now be turned around to challenge the accusers comes from California. Michelle Malkin has a story of boys sent home from scholl on May 5th (Cinco De Mayo, a Mexican celebration commemorating a battle victory over the French). Why? They were wearing American Flag tea shirts. As Malkin notes, “..because while flying the colors of reconquista is perfectly acceptable, flying Old Glory is practically a hate crime.”

I have a feeling that many Tea Party patriots feel that certain inalienable rights… such as the boy’s First Amendment rights to free speech…have been abused. I suspect much networking/communication is also occurring to specifically counter this inanity (confirmed, via Gateway Pundit). In fact, I bet tons of people are locating the contact information for: LIVE OAK HIGH SCHOOL in MORGAN HILL,CA so that they can discuss this situation directly with school administrators.

Frankly, I think that the false charges of racism were leveled last, as our opponents used it when they ran out of all other ammunition. If events in Greece or even Santa Cruz are any indication, extremists who oppose Tea Party Patriots and their positions will take even more desperate measures.

Meanwhile, my compatriots intend to carry on with our “community organizing” to the best of our abilities. In part, it is because we recognize that we are no longer alone.

* Who: Team Obama (NY-DC Corridor/Hollywood Media Type AND Extreme Left Activists).
* What: The nastiest charge they could cull from the Alinsky Playbook.
* Where: From their power-centers, as it is obvious most have never attended a Tea Party.
* When: Since February 2009, but more vigorously now.
* Why: To silence independent conservatives, who are good people that would normally cringe at the allegation.

I also hope I have given you cause to believe that this will no longer be an effective approach. To that end, I especially want to thank the SLOB’s, as we keep eachother informed of infiltraitors, Lyndon LaRouche Democrat Nut-jobs, and key news or action items. I am sure there are many such teams across the country; I am blessed to be part of this one!
