Carry the battle to them. Don’t let them bring it to you.

Dear Readers: I wanted to start this post with a quote from a Democrat: President Harry Truman. He said:

Carry the battle to them. Don’t let them bring it to you. Put them on the defensive and don’t ever apologize for anything.

And by battle, of course I mean the struggle to win the hearts and minds of our fellow citizens. Our friend Dean of Beers with Demo had this to say, in regard to the much vaunted “civility” that is being touted by the counter-protesters who have struck our Tea Party participants, chanted derogatory terms, and drowned out our speakers with a bull-horn:

When I think of the violence done to the Constitution with respect to health care reform, “civility” is not the term that comes to mind.

I also wanted to note that my efforts to generate a Townhall at the Bob Filner Coffee Party, with an eye toward allowing Filner’s constituents to actually interact with their elected representative, has led me to make a new acquaintance. Richie has this response to the Coffee Party’s assertion that Filner’s constituents, who have no chance to meet with Filner via a Townhall or other venue, are not permitted to join the event:

So stop with the false accusations and name calling! The truth is that when polititions like Bob Filner make Bad decisions, they need a “cover” so they dont have to face there constituents. So Filner won’t have a townhall meeting anymore, he refuses to have open debate with his opposition, Nick Popaditch, nor have OPEN and Pubic contact with the people in District 51.

The citizens are no longer represented, and are called an Angry mob, that excuse is getting real lame Cong. Filner
