Dear Readers: I apologize for the light posting, but between the Young Prince’s new school schedule and a family wedding, I have been super-distracted. I wanted to make sure my California friends knew about a few fun events slated for October…
Consider it Octoberfest, but with TEA!

WHOLEFOODS BUYCOTT – LA JOLLA, OCT. 10th
Wholefoods CEO John Mackey laid out perhaps the most articulate argument for real heal care reform, based on sound free market principles. As Mackey’s stance is counter to the Obama administration’s big government proposals, he and Wholefoods have come under attack and boycott. Subsequently, the Local UFCW 135 protested outside the La Jolla location against Mackey’s statements on Aug. 20, 2009.
In the spirit of Capitalism, The Southern California Tax Revolt Coalition (SoCal-TRC, LLC) would like to support Mackey and the long term success of Wholefoods as an engine for job creation and free markets by holding a BUYcott. We are asking San Diegans come for shopping, coffee or just snacks/lunch in the café.

Location: 8825 Villa La Jolla Dr, La Jolla, CA 92037

SAN DIEGO ECO-TYRANNY TEA PARTY & YARD SALE, Oct. 17th
Building on momentum from the Aug. 28th March on Sacramento and Hannity’s nationwide coverage of the water crisis in the Central Valley by holding our own local Eco-Tyranny Tea Party. (See video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFJfviDPVrc), it’s time to make sure San Diego is fully aware of the man-made drought crushing our farmers (especially those here in San Diego County), job losses from AB32, the campaign to repeal AB32 via SB118, and the devastating costs of CARB (California Air Resources Board) standards on equipment throughout the state. And don’t forget Cap & Trade! We all know that the Senate will try to vote on it sometime this Fall!
This will also be the First Annual Tea Party Yard Sale where local Tea Party groups will sell their 2009 t-shirts and bumper stickers for an end-of-year fund raising push. Here at SoCalTRC, we will be redesigning the t-shirt for 2010, so this may be you last chance to get historic 2009 Tea Party swag before the end of the year.
Date: Sat. Oct. 17th
Time: 10:00 am -11:30 am
Location: Half a block N. of the Star of India; N. Harbor Dr.; San Diego
MESSAGE: Citizens should bring signage related to flowing water, cap & trade and all-things opposing eco-tyranny ! So-Cal TRC, LLC will provide updated fliers on related legislation and action plans.

I want to give thanks to all of the people who attended the tea party rallies in the beginning of the movement.Twenty years ago,I used to live in San Diego, and I would go it alone on the steps of the federal courthouse.Eventually, I grew tired and disappeared from San Diego.I never drew a crowd or made much of an impact so I withdrew from the scene.I jumped back on board in Wash. DC 9/12/09.To all the people who showed up at the first rallies,I tip my hat and beer to you. Thanks,I am alive again!
