Hope to See Righty anti-McCain Voters at a Tea Party soon!

UPDATE: Ace of Spades also provides a related reminder.

Dear Readers: Something that struck me last night as I was updating the Shrine — and that was who I haven’t met at a Tea Party event. This stems from calls made to a variety of radio hosts throughout the Nov. 2008 election, when “conservative” listeners told the host that they hoped Obama won because “only then will people turn around and vote for a real conservative in the next election“.

I am a co-founder of a local San Diego Tea Party group, the Southern California Tax Revolt Coalition. I am a Democrat; though Senator McCain wasn’t my first choice for President, I got behind Sarah Palin. My other co-founders also voted for McCain, though he wasn’t their first pick either.

I have meet many people at these events; however, no one has ever copped to being a “next Reagan to follow” righty Obama voter.

I have dialoged with many conservatives on a variety of forums, and it always struck me that people who had this attitude were more talk than action. Now, my team and the wonderful patriots we work with, take a lot of personal time and effort to stem the flow of liberty-crushing, economically unsound inanity that stems from the Executive and Legislative branches of our state and federal governments. I honestly hope the anti-McCain Obama voters are making the same sort of commitment.

I was just corresponding with one of the most active of our newly-minted activists. It seems many of the Tea Party organizers are struggling to find balance and energy to keep up with their personal and professional needs. Many of us who participated during the initial Feb. 27th nationwide Tea Party, and thrilled to do so, were not cognizant of the long-term action that would be required to sustain our efforts. We are having to rethink, regroup, and reorganize so that we can go the distance.

I would like to request prayers for all who are organizing and promoting our rallies.

I would like to remind my friends of our next two healthcare-oriented rallies:

SAN DIEGO RALLY
Day: Saturday, July 11
Time: 10:00 – 11:00am
Location: Half a block north of the Star of India, right beside a parking lot in an assembly area (Harbor Drive, San Diego)
GOOGLE MAP – click HERE.

There will have speakers address the legislation and tragic pitfalls of government rationed care. This is also a VERY busy portion of Harbor Dr., so bring your health care related signs so we can line the street for maximum exposure!

Facebook RSVP HERE.

JULY 17th — NATIONWIDE PROTEST

Join the NATIONWIDE, simultaneous protest of government run health care on Friday, July 17th at 9:00am PST. Tea Party Patriots will protest in front of EVERY SINGLE Senator and Congressman’s office across the nation. Help us represent San Diego county by having your voice heard at any of the following offices in the county. Bring your letters and petitions to hand deliver. We all need to register our sentiments regardless of whether or not our representatives are supporting the legislation. This will be a day they will not soon forget:

FACEBOOK EVENT RSVP HERE.

Click HERE for addresses of the our representatives’ local offices so that you can join! (If you are in California, our group also promotes statewide events; if you are outside of California, please check out our national group, Tea Party Patriots.)

These events will be critical. Pennsylvania State Senator Jim Ferlo and NY State Assemblyman Richard Gottfried Launch New Campaign to Win State Legislator Support for HR 676, which is Obama’s single payer proposals for healthcare. This is how the big government statists plan to press for control of one of the most significant aspects of American life.

We might meet new friends there, too! It seems a bunch of Libertarians are highly unsatisfied with the current administration. Other citizens, whom Obama has now “thrown under the bus”, may eventually join the Tea Party fun as well.

There is a long list of items that McCain most assuredly would have handled differently, and in a far more American manner, than Obama. To start with, McCain would not be undermining successful American policies with Russia, nor circumventing our Constitution to do so (for a solid comparison, see McCain’s response to the Georgia invasion). McCain’s stance on the first Stimulus bill was that it was “Generational Theft“. I don’t think that the Senator from Arizona would be setting up for a second version.

You can’t convince me ever that McCain was “socialist-lite”. I sincerely doubt that there would have been anything other than this type of tea party if her were POTUS.
